  • Curious since it’s Thomas Rivers Brown’s first vintage of this wine. Dark ruby fruit - currants, blackberry, dark cherry, and some plum. Smooth mid-palate with solid depth/concentration. Nice rich flavors of cassis, some spice/licorice, cocoa, and a little graphite component. Decent finish but not overly long nor deep - it could use some more time to open-up with the finish which isn’t a surprise in light of its youth. Decanted for four hours and drank over a couple more. Improved a little with time. Drank next to a 2021 Quivet Napa cab on its third day and I thought the Quivet was a couple points better. Nonetheless, a solid vintage of this wine - 93 for me at this youthful stage. 98% cab sauvignon and 2% petite syrah.
