At nine years old, this once solid Chardonnay is on its last leg with just a little fruit or any of its vibrant acidity left. Others present really liked it, though. I think my buds recalled it in its youth when it was more enjoyable.

Dinner with Friends (FMIII in the OC): Good nose of citrus, very clean. Razor sharp acid from the attack to the finish, I like it. Fruit profile is lemon and lime zest. Mid palate shows a touch of oak which adds to the excellent complexity. Showing very youthful at this point, fresh as the day it was bottled. Nice wine.

This is a solid chardonnay. Pour this blind for me, I'd have some leanings towards Chablis. It shows a good amount of green apple and lemon peel, along with some mineral. What gives it more of the new world feel is some of the oak shading that shows through some caramel and butterscotch, although both of these qualities are perfectly fine within the context of this wine. I really enjoyed this bottle.

Also found in a corner of the cellar. Should have been consumed 3+ years ago. Mostly oxidized by now.
