Community Tasting Notes (4) Avg Score: 92.8 points

  • Merlot based, very nice wine. Decanted 4 hours, but doubt it needed it as it seemed expressive right from the start. Blueberry, spice, menthol notes. Soft and easy to drink. Another nice wine from the team at Realm.

  • Purple and inky, barely changed in the glass after hours. Good weight. 92 with potential upside

  • I was deeply impressed with this wine. For one thing, it’s a remarkably good vintage of the tempest. For another, it’s absolutely ready to drink now on release. Nose is fresh and open, with lots of potpourri and redcurrant. It’s in the dark fruited category without a hint of roasted character. Balanced acidity and texturally polished skin tannins without any discernible oak overtones or green wood. Delicious and impressive bottle and I see no reason to hold it. Pop one and let me know.

  • Super bright ruby purple. Nose is a tiny bit hot otherwise this would have received a higher score. Behind the alcohol are blueberries and cherries and just a hint of chocolate. Very long finish, as the wine coats your palate completely.
I've enjoyed other Tempest bottlings more than this one - hopefully I just popped this too early. That said this is still really enjoyable.
The wine is very well structured and should have no difficulty lasting 10 or more years
