  • So smooth. PnP. On opening a very strong smell of sweet cherries. Good brown tint on the rim. Once poured has a strong menthol note on the nose. Taste has nice acid still and smooth tannins. Finish brings n some earthy notes and white pepper. Much better than the previous bottle but I suspect that was in improved handling on my side

  • Interesting. I’ve never had a 24 year old wine before. Lots of sediment but decanting got it straight. Cork in great shape. Color has a fair amount of brown in it but still has ruby and some clarity at the rim. Still balanced between tannins and acid most it would seem that much of the fruit is gone. Has leather notes and black pepper with a bitter finish. No clue if this is what an older wine is supposed to taste like but I have a 2nd bottle so I’ll compare later.
