A solid preformer, chunky with good black currant flavours, not a huge wine. Went well with grilled rib eye and steamed baby reds with a smoked sea salt to finish. The finish was a bit short and thin.

Very nice bottle. Wonderful nose full of blackberry, cassis, earthy mushrooms. Light body, not overly complex but great flavors with a nice finish of mix mushrooms/vanilla. Acidity and tannins make me believe that you can keep this wine 3-4 more years, easy. This is a great middle point between Washington cab blend (label says some cab franc and merlot) and Bordeaux.

Dark ruby in color. Nose of citrus, black cherry, with hint of allspice. Sharp black fruits, graphite, green plum and a hint of bell pepper on the palate. Medium bodied, offering a filling and silky finish. Nicely balanced with good acidity and fine grained tannins.

The regular bottlings of seven hills reek of ordinariness. They are all well made, but unfortunately, rather boring bottles. The adjectives I wrote down on all this tier ran like: nice, unserious, pretty, and good. But they are amazingly forgetable. While a good bet not to disapoint, they offer no wow! factor, either. However, unlike the red blend, the cab should be better at the price.

Good fruit, soft tannins, light finish. Don't need food to enjoy this.
