Can't remember when we drank this, but I remember it being a fine little wine. It took awhile to grow on me, but once I did it's mild spicyness became very pleasent. Overall, an average drinking experience, but nicely balanced and a good change from the common red varieties. Affordable, too, and worth its price.

Glatzer owns 16 hectares of vines. 10% of which are planted to Blaufrankisch. This was my lowest scoring of the 3 Austrian reds opened. Notes of spiced fruit and cherry cough syrup. Light to medium bodied. A little thin on the finish. A pleasant wine and a good everyday drinker if the price is right. 85 points.

Nice mid-week drinker. Spicy nose with persistant ripe red fruits. Quite a bit of acid but the mid-palate is a bit hollow.
