  • Pnp. First night there was lots of lush red raspberry fruit with a bit of black pepper. It did finish a bit harsh which made me think it could be some heat from the alcohol. On night 2, the fruit went away but the meaty characteristics came out with more pepper and the harshness was gone. Wine was beautiful and smooth.

  • Continues to be the exception - a California Syrah that actually reminds me of a nice French version. Still dark and savory, bacon fat and blueberries, but beginning to show a few age lines around the edges. I would begin to move towards drinking any remaining bottles over the next few years while its still at peak.

  • Explosive, earthy nose of dark fruit, a heavy dose of cured meat with campfire, bell pepper and clove leading to a wonderfully balanced palate with loads of very ripe blueberry and black cherry, secondary notes of cracked pepper and vanilla, sprinkled with allspice, chocolate and leather, woven together with moderately firm tannins, finishing with nice length.

  • Needed 60 minutes to open up. Cedar bark, floral caramelized berries, crushed wet rock nose. Dark garnet with burnt ends, well integrated. The low end of full bodied, medium mouth feel. Ripe, black fruit, pencil, spice box, subtle pepper, hunt of green, cocoa & olives on the finish.

Excellent wine the had held up, proof is always in the wine making. Not really my style syrah but super enjoyable. Enjoyed with no food, as a cocktail.

  • These 10+ year old Dumol Syrahs are totally killer. Still with plenty of youthful black fruit complemented by loads of roasted gamy meats, bacon, earth, and almond extract. A wonderfully round, rich and balanced palate. So delicious!
