  • Sad to see my last bottle of this vintage go. It's now developing a honey phase in the mouth, after the fruit and acidity and before the vanilla. A wine with lots of character and so many facets. This has been such a good keeper and provided six excellent evenings. I'll miss the 05.

  • Medium to deep golden. Nose a melange of spice and fruit. I think this has a miscellany of varieties like arufiac, gros and petit manseng and a couple of others so no real diferentiation in the aromas; maybe some pear, some lemon and some rolling tobacco. Ooh, and vanilla. Very rounded, full mouthfeel. Quite a coating but also good acidity. Fruit a bit subdued now but it seems well balanced. a seriously good food partner

  • Almost 100% Petit Courbu (with some Manseng), not unlike a Riesling but with more bitters, very fragrant and fresh, apple, citrus, white peach, hint of pineapple, unoaked, lovely sweet fruit in a completely dry setting, lovely length.
