Decanted for 2 hours. Initially, this was very veggie on the nose with screaming potatoes, tomatoes along with some sour cherries. Then it changed over the dinner and started to show more ripe red fruits. The veggies were still there, but a little more subtle. This wine tastes exactly how it smells...lots of veggies along with some liquorice. It's medium bodied, elegant with fine tannins, but simple with short aftertaste. This is good wine, but I was expecting something more complex and with more structure. I enjoyed the experience, but I won't buy it again.

Dense and intense. Color is a dark red trending to purple, with just a bit of lightening at the rim. Nose is expressive and complex even pop and pour, straight from a cold cellar. Dark berry fruits and green tobacco/agave note. Stashed half of this in a 375 and will see how it does.

(Catherine & Pierre Breton Chinon "Les Picasses") This was showing tight, earthy and minerally but had a lovely core of dark fruit. There was a long detailed finish and astonishing purity to this wine. Great sweet, ripe tannin. Love '04 in Chinon.

Lovely developed aromas, with earth and mushroom. Soft and fruity on the palate, with nice structure and acidity.

Lavender, licorice and pepper. Fresh and juicy. Still has a few more years left.

Quite good, but not as concentrated as some 2005 Chinons from Philippe Alliet and Olga Raffault (Les Picasses) that I tasted last year.
