Wish I had bought two cases instead of one. Dense, peppery, integrated fruit; just a terrific glass of wine. Was even better on day 2, suggesting that it's got another 10 years in front of it. What $30 Aussie shiraz should aspire to be.

New Years Eve 2009 (My place): Opaque black color with a thin blue rim. Very intense and concentrated aromas of crushed blueberries, blackberries, kirsch liqueur, licorice, oil drum, gunpowder and cream caramel. Similar notes over the palate which starts out primary with loads of black fruit, then picks up dark licorice and chocolate on the midpalate, before ending with some burned oil drum. A power wine that somehow remains fresh and light on its feet.

Nice color. Fragrant nose with blackberry and some oak. Nice mouthfeel, bright, some strawberry and blueberry, licorice and dark cherry at the end. Nice finish. Crisp tannins. Nice everyday wine.

blueberry, blackberry aromas and flavors; licorice and black pepper lingers on long finish; full bodied, well integrated tannins
