  • Is it possible to make a bad wine from Shea vineyards? Smoke, red fruits, a nice earthy quality without the Brett sometimes found in Oregon. The mid palette was soft and vibrant with a little cherry zing before the smoke/tea finish. Just enough complexity to keep it interesting, if they are trying to make a Burundian style wine from Oregon this wine would surprise people. I really wish I had purchased more!

  • A fantastic Oregon pinot noir right in its peak zone of performance. Elegant but showy, the black cherry fruit achieves impressive altitude and the balance is spot on. Velvety, tongue coating mouthfeel. Excellent bottle. Paired perfectly with thick slabs of alder plank smoked Alaskan king salmon that we caught earlier this month. Drink now.

  • Medium color. Definitely beginning to brick. Slight earthy nose with cherries and red fruit. Cherry taste. Balanced. Good finish. Will not improve with age, but should last a couple years yet.

  • Short thick legs with exceedingly smooth tannins. Black fruit notes with some earthiness to it. Medium length with a smooth finish. 91.

  • Great start with red and black cherry, woodsy spice. Lighter fruit on palate - strawberry and raspberry - with bright energy and vibrant acidity. Good overall structure, but already close to harmony. Long finish with bright fruit and smoky spice. Better 2005-2008.
