Cured, jerky-like meats on the nose with a flutter of tobacco. Incredibly soft mouth-feel. Balance is really there in this bottle which is why I scored it so high. Syrah from Red Mountain AVA is such a beast to try and tame with it's huge tannin. Very suprised at the quality of this bottle. Will certainly buy again in the future.

Dark purple colour. Smelled of berries and some vanilla, mostly blueberries, but there was also this hint of pine needles in there. The taste was smooth and soft tannins. There were more berries in the taste (blueberries mostly) and a clear presence of oaky vanilla. But this wine stood out in it's acidity that came with citrus flavours, mostly lemon. So to sum up blueberries and lemon, quite odd combination but a good wine never the less.

Red Mountain Tour (Red Mountain, Washington): Some funk is here on the nose. It's like a fallen tree laying on the forest floor, with some dark cherry scents thrown in. Tasty cherries start things out nicely on the palate. The wine has an enormously soft touch all the way across the palate. Lighter acidity builds toward the finish, and the fruit lasts a long time. The flavors are simple, but this is very well put together. This is pretty well integrated already, but will benefit from a bit of age.

Dirty red berries with a little hay and leather. Well balanced acidity, a very nice food wine.

Purplish color. The nose smelled of roasted nuts. Stewed fruit on the palate and a bitter finish. Hope my pipes liked it better than I did.
