  Initialer Probeschluck, sehr verschlossen und Tannin-geprägt. 8h karaffiert, danach unglaublich intensives Pflaumen-Bouquet, am Gaumen Tannine jetzt sehr harmonisch, wieder Pflaume, aber auch Cassis, wenig Garrigue, Steine, sehr gute Länge, verändert sich ständig. Am beginn des Trinkfensters, braucht akt. noch viel Luft.

  I am torn on this one because the nose has so much promise but ultimately the palate does not deliver. Nose is perfectly mature - deep, sweet fruit flavours of ripe blackberry, raspberry jam, wild strawberry, with pepper, cloves, raisin and prunes. A touch of wet bark. The palate is a different story. Quite unbalanced with raging acid, sharp red fruit, little tannin. I recognise the biodynamic comments of other reviewers - it’s just I am not sure this effect was intended by the winemaker. Feels like a fault in this case. Perhaps it is just a tad too old?

  Open and expressive on the nose - smoky, spicy, notes of tobacco and leather, dark fruit. Vibrant and fresh on the palate, great acidity, fruit and balance, really fine with very good depth and length. Drink or keep. 92-94

  Mid crimson purple,
  Engaging bouquet of garrigue, wild lavender, softened Morello cherries, almost cocktail cherry with some tilled soil and underbrush as the wine opens.
  The mid-weighted palate has plenty of complexity: a fresh vibrant cherry, dried earth, fresh socks, and fennel seed. Underpinning is feral notes, smashed stone/mineral, a briny, saline edge and hung game. Charming, engaging wine that has that vibrant biodynamic feel - all a bit edgy too - and very rewarding.
