stellar - pristine bottle - gave an hour decant then rebottled and drank 6 hours later. notes of citrus peel, moroccan tea, incense, earthy notes. balsamics for age as well. Damn pretty stuff

A Ledbury Dinner: Mid to full garnet. More advanced than it should be, starts with maderised and beef tea aromas, before transitioning to a more typical orange peel with some spice. Just a little less expressive and vibrant than usual with the fruit element rather tired. Nicely mineral, and as it composes itself, some complexity. ****

This is my 3rd note on this wine and always so good. This one may be bit more advanced than the previous ones, but it is perfect if you like aged rioja.
The nose is developed but has an intensity of those pot pourris rioja aromas that is unparalleled. It’s light body, balanced with all flavours singing together. Hard to drink a better aged old rioja.
Few more bottles left and I’m sure can keep for another 3/4yrs.

Lopez di Heredia BYO (@MichaelsPlace): Sewer and green but also muted and almost like it is closed down. Still, there are plenty of things to enjoy and overall, it is a lovely wine.

(R. López de Heredia Rioja Gran Reserva Viña Tondonia) Bricked dark red violet color; tart cranberry, dried cherry, dried berry nose; maturing but still youthful, tart cherry, cranberry palate with medium acidity and firm tannins; needs 5-plus years yet; medium-plus finish

Fantastic wine. Ex domaine a couple years ago. Way younger than I’d expect. Just starting to show some tertiary notes. Such a long finish.
