Bouquet: Wet stone, metallic copper, honeysuckle/pear, meadow, lemon zest. medium body. Palate: Reflective of the bouquet, strong minerality and high acidity. Nice tropical fruits, honeysuckle, pear, cantaloupe rind, asparagus, copper. Medium bodied wine, with high acid. Overall, typical of a Roussanne dominated Cote-du-Rhone white blend. A nice, well integrative and definitely distinctive CdR.

Gigondas and Chateauneuf (K&L Wines, San Francisco): Full yellow. Tropical pineapple fruit. Adequate acidity. To me, these wines are triumphant if they avoid heaviness. This one does, so a modest success.

Good amount of tropical fruits, nearly oily in texture, but comes across hot, especially on the second day.

($14) Tasted informally, this had an interesting nose of watermelon. The palate was bright and pleasant with vague white fruit. Pretty good.
