While I didn't expect a dark hue, I was still surprised at just how light in color this wine is - not quite a rose, but close. Bouquet is very big and expressive, which was also unexpected, with lots of florals, red berries, and the RRV cola one expects from this region's Pinot. Tremendous acid on the mouthfeel, and over the last 3 hours, this wine has become more expressive and open. The acid is so strong that it really needs a nice fatty food, and when paired with some, gains weight, and the fruit emerges. Really interesting, in that way, and basically tells me that this wine is (no surprise, it's a Joseph Swan Pinot Noir) still a bit too young. It needs more time to flesh out, and I'll be testing my own theory, of sorts, with the other half of the bottle that I've put into a 375ml for later.

Fully mature and drinking well with cherry, earth, red florals, a touch of cocoa. Integrated light-medium acid/tannins.

Agree with HADLIEH2 that this was a thoroughly enjoyable bottle. We drank it slightly chilled.
