There is a certain density to the iron rich aromas, although lacking any real fruit component and showing a lean edge. The palate is medium-bodied and well balanced with subtle shades of dried flowers, cherry and redcurrant. The finish is clean with a touch of toast.
A significantly better bottle than the last I opened. This one showed no signs of fading and went well with what we happened to be eating....a robust salad with toasted pine nuts, chicken and all kinds of goodies.
This is an approachable drink of wine but with nothing particularly outstanding to set it apart. Muted fruit with a bit of wet stone and earth. Better with food. This one isn't likely to get much better and may be on the downhill side of it's life so drink up.
