Perfectly preserved, but it probably is coming to the tail end of its optimum drinking window. It really shows its Montrachet pedigree, and it is hard to find fault. 95+

Medium gold color; subtle aging nose of baked apple, just hints of citrus left amid orchard fruit; modest acidity still holding things together. A touch of the old power kicks in at mid-palate and runs through a long finish. Just over crest of the hill and rushing downward. Drink up! 92+

Fullish medium golden; very enticing bacon fat and smoke character I usually associate with a high-end Meursault, but something I like only to a point. The overt oak notes did take it to the edge for me but it did surely grow fatter, more dense and showing some dry extract. A good showing but not nearly as good as previous bottles I've had of this. Would have preferred less smoke and more minerality and a touch more acid backbone.

A 2002 Remoissenet Montrachet Grand Cru took a while to get up and boogie but was really good once it did. It had a lactic thing going on but was very direct with explosive white peach and citrus fruit aromas and flavours. It was layered in the mouth and spicy and sappy. It looked young and fresh and had really good cut to the finish.

This really did have "clout". Jeremy's note remains "spot-on".
