  • Richly fruited with a strong chocolately tar note. A note similar to Banyuls or ripasa styled wines. Enough acidity to keep that richness from wallowing on the palate. Interesting wine. Surprised to find it could be found for so cheap on release, especially considering how well it has aged. A nice wine that would stand up with heartier meals. No rush to drink.

  • Enjoyable again, good acidity, not sweet, fruit present although a bit darker now.

  • Earthy aromas which lead to cherry and red raspberry flavors. Very easy to drink and a value for $9. ($9)

  • Day twenty (20) of vacu-cork in the fridge and still interesting with faded acids and tannins but full fruit, black cherry and blackberry along with a strong flavor of tea made from flowers and a bit of sugar. I assume the flowers come from the Black Malvasia. Don't have the heart to dispose of this so I'll keep sipping on it occasionally.

  • A big wine, not only soft, spicy, and fruity but also a bit harsh, probably from the acids. Nose, taste, and acid improved vacu-corked in the fridge over seven (7) days (you read that right). Nice nose with mild floral, strong spice, backed by almost a salt air and acid aroma with indistinct mild fruit. In the mouth the fruit is chewy and lasts a long time if you swish it about, like chewing rich gum berries. Taste is also quite acidic, not so much tannin, plus an orange flavor with a bit of mineral and earth. Finish is mostly an acidic hum with a hint of orange. You'd need hearty S. Italian fare to stand up to this wine.
