Reading some of the other reviews had me worried. Personally, I have never had a bottle of any Loring pinot that was unpleasant - quite the contrary - I have enjoyed them all. This bottle of 07 Russel showed no sign of age and was a delicious example of pinot noir. It does not resemble some of the higher scored pinot noirs that taste like syrah.

Just pulled one out of my cellar tonight to go with Salmon on the grill. After reading the last review, I was little worried, but it was still robust with a bit of both black berry and cherry up front and a spicy finish that lasted quite nicely. Not sure how long it will drink this way, but for now, very nice.

Do Loring wines age? Not according to this bottle. Blackberry, plum, and chocolate, quickly yield to bitterness, oak, and unpleasant tartness. The bottle lost to three other "lesser" wines (which, combined, cost what this one bottle does) in a mixed wine crowd. The other bottles were finished while no one had more than a sip of this. Drink now (or don't).

Just ok. Felt a bit tired and over the hill. Drink 'em, if you got 'em. Not going to get any better

Ridding myself of over-the-hill Lorings and this is the last of them. Dark fruit, cocoa, oak, but fairly simple with the fruit clearly receding.
