Annual Christmas Wine Dinner and Cellar Raid (Naperville, IL): Didn't take detailed notes. Part of Christmas wine dinner and cellar raid. I have always loved this wine and it is a steal. Made from classic Napa vintages and drinking extremely well now.

Living up to its namesake. PNP powerful dark fruit and heady oak on the nose carrying through to the initial taste. Good heat and the oak melts in your mouth, almost creamy in texture. Nice chocolate cinnamon finish.

Incredible bouquet on first pour. Good dark fruit and some heat on initial taste. After an hour, the heat subsides and so does the fruit and the finish goes earthy. I like it better as a pop and pour and let it develop a while in the glass. Not sure any additional aging will help. Drank the remainder later, all earth and acid.

I think I found one of the best value Cabernets. This is such a great Cab blended from two great appellations. Drinking extremely well and quite delicious.

Good QPR. Nice nose - lots of fruit, muted tannins, smooth drinker. Not your typical big Cali Cab, won't overpower food.
