It is mature, but not old at all, shows a modern-leaning concentration of fruit and does not seem to be going anywhere. A very straight forward, full bodied wine, lacking maybe just a bit of local feel.

Great prototype of mature Southern Rhone wine with exactly the right balance of fruit, bramble and tannin. One of the better 2001s I have had. Hold or drink.

Hate these capsules (I will go trough this only for Ravanau!), but his is nice, albeit modern; juicy, rich, more so than typical for the vintage, but certainly in harmony, and it has local character, garrigue etc; a smooth operator, but you can tell, he's from the south. Mature, all is integrated, no hurry though, will keep 5+ years (from a good cellar)

With a nose filled with pepper, kirsch, Provencal herbs, strawberry and spice, this rich, full bodied, generous, lush style of Chateaunef du Pape fills your mouth with flavor. The wine ends with a blast of fresh, ripe, round textured, black raspberry and dark cherry fruit. This is drinking perfectly at the moment.
