Color: A ruby core that's still quite opaque at the core with a vivid ruby leading to tangerine meniscus. Smell: Scents of earth, cherry, plum, and clove. Taste: The Tuscan terroir is on full display as notes of plum, cranberry, tobacco, spice, and tangerine lead through to dried floral notes. Overall: This is just a beautiful wine...it's true to place and I could not be happier with how it's evolved since last tasting this in 2013. Medium body, medium tannin, med acidity, and medium fruit with a lovely finish that leaves me wanting another drink. Outstanding!!

Bought directly from the estate. From their oldest Sangiovese vines, is only released 10 years after harvest. Given its age still very young and a very well made wine: Round & smooth. Nose and taste shows nice dark red fruit, spices and a bit of wood. Medium length aftertaste. Drinks very well know but will have at least 5 years to go.

drank at Toscano ($120 off the wine list) in Cambridge with Cole, Pheabe, her friend and the Downs, really very good, nose was savory and complex, oak and spices and fruit in background, palate was med - full bodied, and with some nice dark fruit (and chocolate?) plus some funky, earthy, savory, meaty elements… very interesting and bold but in no way jammy at all… i lean toward the elegant but this was really good

Dinner with Doug & Becky; 1/20/2013-1/21/2013 (Waltham, MA): Color: Opaque ruby Smell: Dark chocolate, dark fruits, blueberries, coffee, and granite Taste: Blue and black fruits, mineral, and dark chocolate Overall: Outstanding! But YOUNG!!! and this baby needs more time. Tannin++, Acidity++, medium body, med+ fruit, and moderate length finish. This just needs patience. Don't waste your time opening this now. Check again in 2015+
