I was expecting fruit bomb, nueva mundo but turned out to be a quirky, ageworthy, and really interersting white rioja. The nose was cointreau, anise, and root vegetable. Even more funk, cointreau, and rutabaga across the palate with secondary notes lurking but hard to identify. The oak mentioned by others seems to have integrated at this point. Smooth/moderate acidity. Would love to try this in five years, as there is clear upside. 89+

Monthly Tasting Group HWS #036; Spain: White wines (by AW): Enormously toasted bouquet. On the palate also an enormous amount of oak. There is enough fruit like peach and melon behind it. Clove as well. Ok acidity. Very long finish. The oak is not integrated yet, but I trust it will by ageing. The second day the complexity of the wine showed better than on day 1.

Very nice alternative to Chardonnay. 65% Viura, 18% Malvasia, 121% Garnacha Blanca. Nose bursting with Spring floral. Great fruit. Exotic citrus. Light oak. Nice malo creaminess. (PS/J Ordonez)

Smoky oak on the nose, very vibrant and silky on the palate--lively yet creamy, very elegant mouthfeel. Like a great French chardonnay.
