Some nice red classic pinot fruit on the nose, earthy underneath. Alcohol on the nose, enough to be distracting. Refreshing acidity in the mouth. A very good wine overall, but have seen better QPR. Rebuy: maybe

Medium red translucent color, on the nose old leather bound books, dark red cherry, mushrooms. This was decanted for several hours and seemed to put on weight the longer it was open...nice acidity, but there was a hole in the midpalate and a medium to short finish.

Medium to light color. Black fruit, ? a bit stemmy. Savigny-like tang, some toughness at the end, but overall, pretty tame and polished for a Pommard. Good.

Burgundy About Town (Various Vinous Venues, San Francisco): Light color. Funky, tannic nose. Some sappy black fruit and anise, but acidic and frankly tart at the end. The balance is very much in question here.

Light, very little fruit or character, a bit of alcohol comes through.
