Gourmetklubbens tjugoåttonde middag hos P+H (Tema: Lättlagat); 1/21/2016-1/22/2016 (Södermalm): Nice maturing yellow colour with fine and tiny bubbles that helps opening up the nose showing butterscotch, chocolate in a very mature style. The palate is equally mature dominated by mint and marzipan. This is showing lots of maturity, but has already peaked. Should drink up within the next 5 years or so.

Mature, deep golden yellow color. Very expressive, tertiary nose with aromas typical of aged Champagne: roasted nuts, nougat confectionery, caramel oxidation and some honey. Nuances of burnt sugar, smoke and concentrated, chocolatey notes underneath. Dry, mineral and nutty taste with complex flavors of white peach, browned apple, steel, honey, some caramelized pineapples and lemon rind, oxidative walnut notes and a hint of browned butter. Mousse is very soft and creamy, but just barely there. Light mouthfeel with nice acid structure. Flavors of walnuts, almonds, steel, browned butter and nougat are more pronounced in the long, complex and elegant finish, with notes of ripe, browned apple, toast with lemon curd and smoke emerging later in the aftertaste.
The wine is still very drinkable, but probably it has peaked some time ago and now starting its inevitable deterioration: there are still small hints of primary fruit, but mainly the wine is dominated by tertiary characteristics. There is till much life in the wine, but I'd recommend drinking it up quite soon. Worth the price even at 111,10€.

Interesting wine but unfortunately it had peaked several years ago but still nice to have tested

Sadly this bottle was oxidized to the point where it was not enjoyable.
