nose: honeycrisp and fuji apples, warm bread crust, asian pear, ripe white peaches.
palate: there's a lot of fruit here...oh my!. nectarines, white grapes, tropical fruits like papaya and mango, tangerines, even a hint of raspberries. finish is slightly bitter and yeasty and prickly, and fades slowly while the acidity asserts itself.
To me, this wine proves Korbel can transcend its reputation and make great wine. Strawberries and cream and biscuits, dried oats and a bit of lemon and grapefruit zest. Ages well in the bottle. 5-7 years after bottling seems to be a sweet spot.
