  • Enjoyable wine, but lacking the complexity and fruit of a great wine (especially given price of Burgundy these days). Black cherry, earthy and pleasurable at first taste, but slightly astringent on end

  • Reddish purple in the glass.
Nose of thick, dark cherries. Almost a New World, oaky sense to the wine. A little earth and pepper.
Fairly rich mouthfeel of cherry. Not enough earthiness for my tastes. Fairly long, spicy finish.
Didn't think much of it, until I paired it with the grilled chicken with lemon. Wow, did they sing well together.

  • Dark reddish purple.
A big bouquet of earthy cherries, with just a hint of minerality.
Fairly big tannins. Black cherries and earth. Nice potential here.
Consensus at the table was this just needs time. Curious to see where this ends up in 3 to 5 years.

  • Popped and poured. Ruby hue. Aromas initially restrained and showing little more than simple red fruits with a slight floral touch. After a few hours the nose begins to expand and shows a touch of spice. Medium-light in mouth with simple red fruits, some spice and a streak of green. Well structured and balanced. Thirst quenching acidity makes this a refreshing quaff. In fact, those who enjoy a red with high, near-bracing acidity will undoubtedly enjoy this. On day 2 this wine still appeared to be in a slightly closed down state, probably needs a good 16-28 months of cellaring to show it's potential.
