A crisp, lively pinot that is light on its feet and brimming with bing cherry and cranberry, along with some characteristic "Anderson dust." Wells' 2007 pinots are all on point, and this is no exception, drinking very well right now. Juicy red fruit flavors with bright acidity, in a lean but elegant package. Update 5 days later (coravined up until yesterday, when the remaining 1/2 bottle was uncorked): This has not budged an inch, with a piercing cranberry/red fruit nose, bright acidity and a long sweet tart finish (like the candy). A wine for the acidhead crowd, of which I am a card-carrying member.

Second (and last) of my recently purchased bottles from WineBid. This bottle was in great shape. Good Anderson Valley character, with bright acidity and nuance. Flavorful, but on the lean side and missing something in depth, so not a great wine, but enjoyable nonetheless.

13.5% abv. Recent purchase from WineBid. Very similar to the 2007 Kiser "En Bas", i.e. lean and acid-driven on the pop 'n pour and then gained a bit of weight with extended air and drank very nicely. Noticeable stems as well. This was actually a slight bit lighter than the "En Bas". Was expecting the 2007s to be riper, but I've found the other Copain 06s seem a bit riper and heavier.

About as perfect of an American pinot as I can imagine. None of the forest floor notes that I love in old Burgundy--but well balanced, delicious and a long finish.

Ditto on pintag's recent post. Good but limping along at this stage. Drink up
