An amazingly vibrant and intense Sangiovese. Still but a baby, meaning one must schlurp a lot of air through it in order to taste its angelic wings. It's a Chianti on steroids (not parkerisée) with tannic backbone, acidic lift and precise fruit that gets that nervy balance just right. Many Brunellos must be green with envy, for this is what a great young Brunello is all about. Will live long. Maybe opening up in another ~10 years or so. Keep!

Comact and intense aromas, ripe fruit, dark berries, a touch of rasperries and hazelnut. Dry with high acitidy and medium level of silky and integrated tannings. Medium body. Long taste with nice smooth spices.

Opaque with a thin lighter edge in the glass. Nose filling aromas, mostly dense black cherry with a whiff of cedar. The sip features a strong acidity, tasty black cherry, firm but not astringent tannin, and the beginnings of a smooth and rounded feel. The swallow glides down and coats the throat with a final burst of delicious fruit. Overall, a classic Tuscan blend of 95% Sangiovese and 5% Colorino that is well structured, ageworthy, and unusually concentrated.

Dark Crimson almost to rim; sweet dark fruit, dark cherry, tobacco, slight fig; sweet fruit almost raisin, very ripe but still enough acid to keep wine fresh, seemingly iron rich soil; nice, fresher than the 2004 Sezzana.

(La Spinetta (Rivetti) Sassontino Toscana IGT) Very dark red violet color; nice dried cherry, mint, tart plum and tar nose; tight, tart plum palate with a touch of tar and firm tannins, needs 7+ years; medium finish (from 40-45 year old vines)
