An amazingly vibrant and intense Sangiovese. Still but a baby, meaning one must schlurp a lot of air through it in order to taste its angelic wings. It's a Chianti on steroids (not parkerisée) with tannic backbone, acidic lift and precise fruit that gets that nervy balance just right. Many Brunellos must be green with envy, for this is what a great young Brunello is all about. Will live long. Maybe opening up in another ~10 years or so. Keep!

Comact and intense aromas, ripe fruit, dark berries, a touch of rasperries and hazelnut. Dry with high acitidy and medium level of silky and integrated tannings. Medium body. Long taste with nice smooth spices.

Opaque with a thin lighter edge in the glass. Nose filling aromas, mostly dense black cherry with a whiff of cedar. The sip features a strong acidity, tasty black cherry, firm but not astringent tannin, and the beginnings of a smooth and rounded feel. The swallow glides down and coats the throat with a final burst of delicious fruit. Overall, a classic Tuscan blend of 95% Sangiovese and 5% Colorino that is well structured, ageworthy, and unusually concentrated.

Dark Crimson almost to rim; sweet dark fruit, dark cherry, tobacco, slight fig; sweet fruit almost raisin, very ripe but still enough acid to keep wine fresh, seemingly iron rich soil; nice, fresher than the 2004 Sezzana.

Consistent with previous note - perfect mid-week pasta or pizza wine, and a veritable bargain. No hurry to drink up, but conversely not sure there is any point holding off either (except for research purposes).

Delicious - drank with a simple tomato & pasta dish, quick decant with only 5 mins to breathe.....everyone thought this was the perfect wine with the food. Surprisingly un-evolved given the age....purple/violet coloured and very little bricking at the rim. Nose was splendid - cherry and clean fruit...followed through on the palette, smooth and supple, but with enough acidity and tannin to give it life. So much better than my expectations given the price....this might get better, but delicious now.

Too early to open this, definitely needs several more years to smooth out. There is pretty decent dried dark cherry fruit, though it is a bit brooding and reluctant, with noticeable acidity, and some chunky tannins on the finish. This is in an awkward stage, having lost its youthful broadness, but not yet having shed its dominating structure. Definitely a food wine, either give it a lot of air time, or hold for another 5+ years.

4h of decanting - Nose is a bit restrained, but the wine itself is strong, with perfectly integrated oak and beautiful cherries, with exception for the tannins it is very well balanced. Will mellow in 2-3 years but already great stuff. Forget Bordeaux, this is immense power at a reasonable price!

Big upfront fruit on the nose, but balanced well with firm tannins and strong acidity - this is just an overall big wine with a modern style. Could likely mellow with age, but very drinkable now if you like the knock you around kind of style.

Intense and concentrated, dominated by dark plums, cherries and showing a touch of tar. Bails to deliver the expectations established by the bouquet.

A positive surprise that offered more than was expected. Ready to drink with some decanting.

Attractive nose, still quite tannic and strong acidity, lots of airtime (or years) needed to help get in balance.

Meaty and high in tannins. Strong nose with bright cherry. Dusty in the midpalate. High acid.
