Still plenty of colour and no sign of bricking. Wonderful nose of violets and redcurrant so typical of the Clare Valley. On the palate this was very complex mature elegant and long with beautiful mature savoury black fruits and spice. So beautifully balanced with acidity fruit and tannin in a supporting role. This shows just how good a mature Shiraz can be when made with care and aged properly in this case in my eurocave. A lovely wine in a perfect place with at least 3 more years of life left. Very classy and wonderful to drink. One to look out for.

Aberfeldy 2006 Rustic, acidity poking out of a thinning middle, beefy and leather flavour through the finish. It’s ok, but should have drank this last bottle immediately after my last one two years ago. Is tired and past it, it’s one of my favourite wines. This is surely a low vintage. 3/5. 89. Drink up.

Seems like it's ready. Decanted and followed over 3 hours. Best in the second hour with or without food. Somewhat Christmassy nose, though not too sweet. Very ripe.

Still just about alive, although very tertiary - no real fruit left. Slightest hint of tannin on the finish. Drink up.

Slightly musty when opened, 1hr decant, much improved from last tasting.
