Palish lemon yellow. Superb gewurztraminer nose, and really attractive with it. Lychees, grapefruit peel, tropical fruit, some heft. Unmistakably gewurz, but I shy away from calling it an archetypal gewurz nose, as there's only the merest hint of rose. Lovely attack: quite rich and full, and mouthfilling, but there's a real elegance and lightness of touch here. Excellent balance.

Mid straw-gold. Classic light-touch gewurz nose. Lychee, pineapple and grapefruit peel. Definitely on the lighter, fresher side, with no particularly noticeable rose on the nose, betraying a light touch in the pressing. Beautiful palate. This is what all gewurz should be. Oily, perfumed, with a good weighty mouthfeel. There's some sweetness , but it's as much richness as sweetness, finishing drier than the attack. Also finishing very cleanly indeed. Unlike many gewurztraminers - from both Alsace and elsewhere - this is easy to drink, and to continue to drink: you don't get tired of it, like you do with more over-extracted or more heavily pressed wines. It has an utterly beguiling delicacy and elegance. An extremely fine "dry" gewurztraminer

Sweeter than I would have imagined. This was a Wine Society selection. I like them dryer, like the Trimbach or ordinary Hugel. I will use these for Fois Gras

very pale and a light, gentle wine but with a slight astringency in passing that spoils the finale - drink soon
