  • Dark purple color. The nose was packed with plums, dark cherry, green tobacco, and green beans. The flavor profile was complex with dark fruit and complementary herbal notes. This was full-bodied with balanced acidity and some tannic backbone. Overall, this was a revelation, a wine with ample fruit and a complex flavor profile highlighting green tobacco and herbs. Really a lovely wine in an old school way.

  • Brilliant. Lots of fruit and perfect integration of constituents. Feels still a little youthful. I think it probably still has a couple of years here if cellared properly. Crimson red for 15 years old. Lots of vibrant red and black fruits. Bon bons and boiled sweets. A core of liquorice and mild menthol.

  • Six years since our last bottle. A fair amount of deposit so decanting was appropriate. Good colour with no browning at the edge. Blackberry, dark cherry, damson with good balance and (damson) acidity. Great balance, length, and attractive, soft integrated leathery tannin. Very soft and smooth at this stage of development. It was still opening after 4h. Good with food (rare sirloin) and equally good on its own afterwards. 'Bargain Bordeaux'. It still has life.

  • Drank this alongside an '05 Tertre and it stood up to the comparison well. Fully mature and in a good place. I would guess that this will drink well now for another 5 years at least. Great value - cost a third of the Tertre!

  • Tannins still quite assertive. A few years ahead yet but not sure if this will ever fully balance out.
