  • This is the cuvee labelled simply "Assyrtico" and it is tank fermented and sees no oak, in conntrast to this producer's "Santorini", which is partially matured in oak and the "Santorini barrel" which is barrel fermented and 100% matured in oak.
Pale yellow. Strong mineral and grapefruit aromas, in a very typical and "extreme" version of the Santorini terroir and the assyrtico grape. Mid-light bodied, yet quite mouthfilling with limestone and grapefruit. Bone-dry with very high acidity. Long, mineral finish. Showed more roundness and complexity on day 2. Overall, a very good wine for lovers of the Santorini wine style, that will also appeal to fans of dry rieslings. Excellent QPR. Now-2015.

  • Bright color. Very clean nose of mineral. Volcanic ash & a distinct nutty element in the mouth with a clean mineral finish. Good.

(Argyros estate White Assyrtiko) COLOR-light golden; NOSE-a little rubber; getting a lot of lime; (Jancis-lemons & minerals); TASTE-high acid; a little off balance w/ the heat on the back-end; nice wine; (Jancis-a very nice wine, but lacks the follow-through); Jancis-15.5-16(out of 20); GV-??
