Very pleasant surprise. Thought I had consumed the last bottle of this more than seven years ago when it appeared to be rather tired to me. Luckily found this bottle which had escaped detection. While fully mature I believe it has the stuffing to go for another several years. Sangiovese attributes of tart cherry predominated with a medium body and an excellent balance of fruit and acidity. Drunk with a veal rib chop and porcini. It provided an excellent accompaniment

I had double-decanted at home (lots of sediment). It had seemed tired then, but had picked up by time we served. Red fruit, dried cherries, leather. Good acids for a Tuscan with lots of Cab. OK finish, this is no spring chicken but a pleasant mature SuperT.

Quite mature but lovely just the same with notes of forest mushrooms, moss, briar, ripe blackberries and old wine barrels still wet from the rain....88 pts
