Monthly Tasting Group HWS #129; France, Northern Rhone White (By me): Dark golden yellow. Mature bouquet with walnuts and oxidized flavors. Same on the palate, nuts, old honey, wet wool, lemon zest, a bit salty. Ok acidity and length. Opinions differed; most tasters thought it was too old (including me), but some saw the bright part and appreciated the mature complexity. No score from me.

- Yellow gold color and aromas of geranium. It's in total harmony and has flavours of orange blossom and almond with a medium/full body with a long finish.

My birthday wine. Hooray for white Rhone! My first ever, and what a start! Gorgeous nose with some smoky oak, lemon, nuts and flowers - just something you want to put in your mouth! A little White Burgundy-like on the nose but the overt lemon and floral aspects give it away as something else. Excellent acidic structure, very cleansing, excellent finish, went superbly with rabbit terrine. Around £20 and worth it.
