Still very much alive. Found a forgotten bottle buried in the cellar during a move, opened with no food - just mindless TV.
Still an opaque ruby, some fading at the edges. A bit muted on opening, but came to life about an hour later (no decanting). Plenty of fruit left, though clear secondary notes of earth funk and leather coming through. Not much pepper spice for a St Joseph, but a minor complaint and shouldn't hurt the score. I wouldn't hold it any longer, but this is absolutely not on the decline. Pleasantly surprised.

Quel beau vin... On aime... beaucoup. Il n'ira pas plus loin toutefois. 90-89

Notes from day 3. Dark opaque purple. Peppery, dark plum nose. Mid palate still a bit weak, but better than two years ago. Strong tannins, long finish.

Great peppery BBQ. The syrah is really popping, but there is nice balance with the dark fruits. It really started to loose something as it was exposed to air in the glass. Drink 'em if you got'em.
