Developing nicely with red currants, earth, cigar and spices. Concentrated wine and a bit rustic overall but nice. Medium finish and plenty of flavors. A good burger or steak wine. Still quite tannic.

Double Blind Tasting at Kevin's (Kevin's House): I had some fun with this wine at a blind offline and inserted it into the mix. Being a double blind event we had guesses from Washington and Australia. This was a pop and pour and the wine showed nice spice, floral, oak and vanilla along with some sour cherry. It is rare to drink 100% Petit Verdot wine but this is a winner for under $30.

Double Blind Mini Offline (Rocknroller's (Kevin's)): Dark red, slightly cloudy. Nose is somewhat aromatic, spice, pepper, black cherry, alcohol. Palate of dark red fruit, spice, prominent tannins, alcohol. peppery finish. Not my favorite, but a good 100% PV. But I would make the case that this is why it is a blending grape.

Double Blind Tasting at Kevin's (Kevin's House): Nose: Ripe fruit and coffee aromas. Palate: Dark fruited with some alc heat. Seems a little tired but still nice. Guessed older Aussie. Enjoyed this a little more when last tasted on 2/20/10.

Minneapolis Food & Wine Show (Convention Center): Nose: Floral with some subtle earth tones. Palate: Up front red fruits, good acidity and a very clean mid palate and finish. A very precise and pretty wine that would pair well with food or on it's own.
