Member’s Paulée at Planque Spring 2024 (Planque London UK): On the nose, there was a meatiness that integrated well with roasted dark fruits and dry stone dust. The palate was powerful with dark and red fruits joining to create an interesting fuit bowl. Great acidity and silty round tannins supported the great spicy fruits through a long finish. Delicious!

Complex aromas of dried fruits, plums and oriental spices, and a whiff of the sauvage. The mouth is very perfumed too, and quite decadent with its flavors of spices and dark fruits, the tannins are now resolved, although air brought back some imposing backbone that is still there. It can be drunk now but will improve in several years. This is a wonderful wine, ending in a long and salty finish.

drank 45 minutes after decanting. Silky tannins here. A little fruit but not a lot. Certainly no sweet vanilla like before. Not too open and relatively closed, with some leather.

served more than 1½ hours after opening. Still very fresh with eucalyptus, with a surprising amount of vanilla and coconut butter. Surprising because I always thought Henri Bonneau never used new oak barrels, and I certainly didn't see any during my visit in 2011.

drank 30 minutes after decanting. Showed a lot of sweet fruit, some leather, and a little smoke.
