Some Priorat Giants, Plus a Bonus Wine to Boot (A Pristine Outdoor Setting Somewhere in Los Olivos): Arguably this came off as the most youthful of the five Clos Erasmus vintages we shared. A very evocative nose of dark fruit and some oak notes. Bright and powerful flavors swirl in harmony: black raspberries, red currants, some mocha and a healthy dose of minerality. Sweet tannins add to a very long finish. My WOTF, though any of the five could have surpassed this if we waited long enough -- such impressive wines!

Black currant liquor, earth, mushroom, and sandalwood on the nose. Ripe and rich yet starting to fade. Only downhill from here.
