Wine Education Service - New Zealand - Mature Wines (Imperial College): Very dense, aged, opaque. A developed nose, earthy and vegetal, tomato sauce and Marmite; nose became far more pleasant after 30 minutes, I suggest decanting an hour before drinking. Baked fruit, good balance, quite long.

clear purple/garnet rim, long legs nose: intense black cherries, hot pepper, barnyard earthy overtones, vanilla overtones palate: intense cherry attack followed by strong lingering fruit good acid balance takes over and controls the pepper fruity finish.
The best full bodiied Pinot I have tasted. Superb integration and significantly better than first bottle I tasted in 2006
Superb wine

Medium ruby core, still showing a hint of youthful purple, medium garnet rim. A lot of spicy oak on the nose, ripe black and red berry fruit, hedonistic and rich. Full bodied on the palate with mouth-coating, soft tannins. More spicy oak and good quality, ripe, juicy berry fruit, strawberries in particular showing on a good length finish with cola notes. There is reasonable balancing acidity here but it still comes across as being heavy and a bit difficult to drink, especially after the first glass or two. Good for what it is, but I'm not as keen on these big pinots as I used to be.

Opened and drunk from bottle - not decanted. Ruby to deep red colour. Very open nose with spice & sweet cherries. Lovely sweet fruit with spicy cherry and vanilla on the palate, sweet tannins good balancing acidity. Long finish. Very good and plenty (3years ?) of life left.

Medium ruby core, medium cherry rim. Pronounced, developing nose, very spicy with red and black cherries and hints of vanilla. On the palate this has crisp acidity and low/medium soft tannins. Good concentrated fruit with spicy black cherry, red cherry and vanilla with some savoury notes on a good length, balanced finish. Very good, should keep 2-3 years.
