Have had a few early 2000's of the Moppa, but nothing like this. Eaten with lamb tagine, this was a huge hit. Soft, rounded, still enough fruit, reminded me of an aged brunello or better still, a 5-10yr old chateauneuf du pape. Grenache was 69%, shiraz, mataro the rest. Bought two bottles from Langtons for <$30, great bargain. Will be getting more if i can find it.

Inner tube, black pepper aromas. Palate shows strawberry, lemon and vanilla notes. Evolves into a lengthy and robust cassis and lemon finish. Still vibrant. The oak and/or tannins are not fully integrated which provides the only jarring note for what is otherwise an enjoyable wine. Hopelessly clumsy when first opened, this needs at least an hour.
While I prefer my wines to be a bit more subtle, this is quite good for what it is. I bought this for $16 as an end of bin special and that was a very good value, I don't know what the normal price is. I would definitely try a wine from this producer again in the sub $20 range, but suspect I'm not going to get that opportunity.

Excellent; color and clarity showing it’s age, but the nose, red fruit palate and nice finish still there; great value.

Not nearly as fresh or as interesting as a bottle that I had last month. Still has tell tale aromas of baked cherrys and cinamon.
