Very dark, inky color with hardly any evolution. The nose gives away smoky and herbal tones as well as green/grassy elements, probably due to the fair amount of Cabernet Franc (55%) in this wine. A sweetish entry is followed by substantial substance layered with some dusty tannins and dark red forest fruit that coat the mouth. A serious wine that really begs for food. Payed 15 euros for it at a Belgian supermarket and it’s well worth its money. From a reliable Chilean producer.

South America blind tasting with HWZ group (Extra Space, Boon Keng): Tasted blind, intense dark garnet red with crimson hues. Warm and expressive nose, full of herbaceous, smoke, earth, chalk, blackcurrant and hints of green bell pepper. Sweet fruity entry, followed by herbaceous, smoke, black fruits and leafy notes. Good structure, drying finish with sweet smoky fruits and chewy tannins. Made from 3 C's: 55% Cabernet Franc, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15 % Carmenere.

Drank this wine today during a themed tasting with my mates from www.hardwarezone.com.sg at Extra Space @ Boon Keng today. Theme of the tasting: South American Wines.
Colour was intense, ruby red. Wine opened up with a very distinctive floral bouquet nose, typical of a left bank Bordeaux. Body was well structured with notes of herbs, peppermint, chocolate, capsicum, red meat, and ripe berries. Sweet notes (resembling vanilla) were evident on the palate, though the finish was long and dry. Not very well integrated at this point of time: perhaps this wine needs a bit more time in the bottle to settle.
Interesting blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Carménère.
