-- popped and poured -- -- tasted non-blind over 2 hours on Day 1; revisited on Day 2 --
Quite nice, but this is now on its gentle descent towards full maturity. Rich fruit attack, quickly followed by a wave of fuzzy mineral; the fruit seems to fade more quickly than it did in its youth. Good acidity, but the youthful energy has left the building. Unless you prefer fully mature Chardonnay, this is best to Drink Now and over the near term.

Light yellow to yellow color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of hazelnut, camphor and yellow pears. Flavors of yellow pears, yellow apples, lemons and minerals. Medium acidity, medium to full bodied. Drink now.

-- popped and poured -- -- tasted non-blind on Day 1 and again on Day 3 --
Day 1: most advanced bottle of the '06 to date --- this concerns me a little, but it's still good. Day 3: intense; rich-yet-high-toned lemon custard on the Nose, with some noticeable but unobtrusive oak. Rich, golden yellow color. Doesn't seem as acidic, or have the verve, of prior bottles. Quite good, but doesn't fit the well-established pattern of knee-buckling excellence for this bottling.
