  • Brief impression that is in line with the last bottle. Really strong presence of stems, medium concentration and sweet fruits. The only difference is that I think this will be really delicious and pretty in another ten years when the stem get fully integrated adding more complexity.

  • After having a beautiful glass of the 09 Vosne village served blind, I was seeking Confuron-Cotetidot wines at auction and recently got a lot of the 07 mixed GCs. Medium expressive nose, noticeable stem, fresh crushed blackberries, blackberry jelly, a hint of raspberry, mineral, sweet spices and earth. Medium concentration, pretty black fruit driven palate impression, slightly lacking mid-palate, subdued acidity and a hint of tannins. Although it is open, additional three to five years of cellaring will bring additional tertiary notes that will compensate for slightly lacking mid-palate and a bit short finish. It is a pure and delicate wine that reminds me the style of Rousseau.

As a side note, I find the overall expression of the 07 reds very similar to the 01s, slightly lacking concentration yet a hint of jammy ripe fruits, very good balance, delicate and pretty, very user friendly, slightly lacking mid palate and clipping finish. Of course, there are a few exceptions like Roumier and DRCs.

  • Big spicy nose and palate. Full-bodied with layers of interesting flavours some of which were hard to identify but included leather and lots of savoury bits. It was an unusual taste for me but quite enjoyed.
