Filtered decant. Little bit of sediment, big nose, typical staining Petite ink. Opened up quickly. Our final bottle, softened yet still good structure with chewy savory old world goodness. Dusty black fruit with totally resolved integrated tannins that paired perfectly with with gourmet BBQ bacon wrapped caramelized onion stuffed cheese burgers on toasted chipotle onion buns. :-p Few wines will hold up let alone compliment that recipe. Me = 91, family = 93 ... so democracy = 92 once again. Now, on to the 2007 vintage. Gotta love Jeff Cohn!

- It's balanced with a medium/full body. Polished texture with a long finish - Just amazing, drinking well and have several and will try to space them over next few years. One of our favorite Petite Sirah's from JC!

Remarkably big and bold. Rich and mouth-coating with chewy tannins. Currant, blackberries, blueberries on the nose. Not a zingy acidity, but well-balanced. A truly outstanding wine that is still drinking so well. I'd happily open this for several years.

Tasted in a mini-vertical with 2006/2007/2008. The 2007 was the group favorite with bright peppery fruit and probably at its prime. The 2008 was pleasant-- a bit tannic and the fruit may fade first. The 2006 was also pleasant and soft (a bit prune-like). All three worth drinking up.
