First sip from the bottle = chewy tannic & closed. Decanted with filtration and aeration and hour later it opened up nicely and continued to improve for the remainder of evening as the tannins retreated and earthy, spicey, blackberry fruit surfaced. This IS Petite Sirah at its very core and while not quite as complex as our PS favorites it is excellent nonetheless. Proved a great match with BBQ prime ribeye (moderate spice rub on beef and mesquite chips). We're big fans of Jeff Cohn. Glad we have more and expect it will cellar well for several more years.

Just hitting its peak, nowhere near the end of its drinking window. Deep, teeth-staining purple. Dropped a lot of sediment. Tannins are still string yet they’ve mellowed to where this is really nice to drink now. Great deep fruit intensity. Great for sipping and with food, like pan-seared duck breast. Wish I could get more if this.

Still drinking great. Added a point because we've perceived added maturity has brought improved integration and longggg finish.
