  • PopnPour, tasted over 2 hrs
-med dark red, minimal edge clearing
-reduction funk partially blows off leaving a lifted sour note suspicious for VA
-initial burnt rubber/mercaptan partially resolves but then there is a slight lacquer-like edge to it, underneath there is med acidity and med weight with Gevrey earthiness and Etelois finesse
-clearly a flawed bottle with some evidence the underlying wine would have been pretty good

  • PopnPour tasted over 2 hrs
-nearly semi-translucent light/med red with mild bricking
-very pretty aromatic melange of Burg funk Gevrey spice stewed tomato cherry earth
-med acidity, med- weight delicately structured pretty remnants of cherry fruit and earth with med- tannins touch of bitterness and faint oak on respectably long finish
-more elegant than last bottle, typical gorgeous Maume aromatics, very pretty as per usual for Etelois, delicate structure from the vintage, probably near peak but no hurry

  • PopnPour, tasted over 3 hrs and Day 2
-med dark brick red slight clearing at edge
-big Burg funk meaty some reduction Gevrey earth; Day 2 nose still fabulous now with Gevrey spice and fruits turning to black spectrum
-med acidity yet soft mouthfeel, med- weight with med concentration, pretty moderately complex red fruit earth and touch of sweet oak lingers on moderately long finish with med- tannins; Day 2 rounder with more black fruits
-typical Maume robust aromatics with delicate touch, drinking very well now, possibly a bit of upside development for a couple years and will easily be going strong for 5+

  • Really delicious. Nose has sharp, tart, citric/crabnberry funk sense, but on the palate it's ripe and sweet with nice acids, earthy notes, and oak, super clean affect. Just a pleasure to drink now.
