This one is still going strong and aging beautifully. I've always found the Estate from De Ponte to be more refined and less fruit-driven than the 'standard' Dundee Hills; the 2007 is consistent with that observation. The nose is relatively quiet and subtle, but the body is well structured and beautifully layered. This is not a "big" Pinot to pair with a heavy meal, but one that stands up well to drinking with cheeses or with light fare. I don't think there's any rush to drink down what's in the cellar, but this has likely peaked and is sitting firm for the next 3-5 years.

decant 1 hour...pale, thin in the glass. Aromas of white chocolate, cherry, grape soda. The acidity here is finally evening out - more pleasant on the palate than prior tastings.

Smells beautiful, strawberries with mushrooms and spice. The palate shows slightly sour/tartness with sour cherry and raspberry, pomegranate. The pomegranate seeds show as well with some light earthiness. Loads of acidity, long finish with the tart red fruit lingering for a good 20 seconds, slight evolution and complexity here too. This is some nice Pinot! It needs more time although I see the acidity working well with food, I wish I had a plate of pasta in front of me.

Still pleasant/ enjoyabvle, but for me the high acidity (typical of this vintage) is still somewhat distracting. Lesson learned this time - the other bottles need to sit.

A delightful, crown-pleasing Pinot. Fresh red fruits on the nose, with no funk. Bright red fruits, with excellent balance. Tasty!
